Traditional surveillance systems are fundamentally reactive, serving primarily as a source of evidence after a security breach has already occurred. Security teams often face the challenge of "monitor fatigue," where human operators miss critical events across dozens of camera feeds. Furthermore, conventional motion-based sensors trigger frequent false alarms due to animals, swaying trees, or lighting changes, leading to "alert desensitization."
The client required a proactive, intelligent system capable of distinguishing between legitimate threats and environmental motion. Specifically, they needed a solution that could detect not just people, but also the presence of weapons (arms) in real-time, and take immediate autonomous action to deter intruders before they could cause harm.
The operational goal was to eliminate the delay between detection and response, ensuring that security personnel are only notified of high-confidence threats while the device itself acts as the first line of defense.
Our Solution
AdaptNXT developed TARA, an advanced Edge-AI camera system that combines high-definition imaging with powerful on-board neural processing to deliver proactive security:
- Edge-AI Intelligence: Unlike cloud-dependent systems, TARA processes all video analytics locally on the device. We implemented optimized deep learning models for human detection and specialized "human carrying arms" (weapon) detection, ensuring privacy and sub-second response times.
